Wisconsin - Megabucks
The Wisconsin Lotto is a fairly new drawing compared to most state lotteries. The goal was to generate revenue that would be put toward property tax relief within the state of Wisconsin. The lottery runs twice per week on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9 p.m. local time. Players must be 18 or older to participate. Winnings can be issued in a lump sum or an annuity agreement. As with most lottos if you choose the lump sum the payout is approximately 50% of the amount you would receive if you chose the installments. Prizes must be claimed within 180 days.
Lottery Odds And Statistics

The chances of winning the big Megabucks jackpot are 1 in 6.99 million. Second level prizes carry odds at 1:27,100 and third tier prizes have a 1:517 chance of winning.
Lottery Security And Results
The Megabucks Lotto is a state run program backed by the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. The largest jackpot ever awarded with Megabucks was $20.3 million on August 25, 2001. The state funded lottery has a proven record of paying out for over 20 years. Instead of a drum filled with numbered balls as of August 30, 2004 Megabucks winning numbers are selected by using a Random Number Generator to choose the lottery draws. If a prize has not been awarded the amount rolls over to the following drawing date and the larger prize draws even more players. Results can be checked online and tickets can be purchased at any authorized retailer.
The Wisconsin Megabucks Lotto was developed in 1988. Match 3 was the first to go on sale on September 14 along with a game called Wisconsin Red. This state is a member of the Multi-State Lottery Association, the same group responsible for America’s Powerball Lotto. An incredible 95% of the money generated by the Wisconsin Lottery is given back in some way to the people of the state. Over the years Megabucks has generated over $8.3 billion in revenue for Wisconsin.
Wisconsin’s Megabucks Lotto has million dollar payouts twice per week. Their easy to understand system makes it fun for adults of all ages and the odds of winning are better than most state run lottery programs.
